Our trusty team of volunteers are busy preparing the autumn issue of our newsletter “Down the Line” right now, and we would love it if you could get involved.
Have you picked up a copy of the summer edition of “Down the Line” yet? It’s free and there are still a few left on the bus and in cafes Libraries and TIC’s along the line. The mag has listings of local events right up to the end of August, as well as plenty of information on things to see and do in our local area at any time of year.
Down the Line came about for two reasons.
First, there are so many “hidden gems” in our area that we can all enjoy using the bus. Independent shops, bars and restaurants, galleries, country walks, historic buildings and gardens, live music, cinema and theatre, festivals, markets, we could go on. But so often as locals, we find ourselves saying “I never knew that was there!”
Second, not everyone’s on Facebook. Social media is a great way to communicate – but it’s not for everyone,
Down the Line was made possible by a “Build Back Better” grant from Gloucestershire County Council (thank you councillor Gill Moseley). All the content is provided by volunteers and we hope to be able to cover print costs with advertising sales revenue.
And this is where you come in! Can you help us with the autumn and future issues?
There are different ways to help:
Contribute: could you write a short article about something of local interest -one of those “hidden gems”. Or let us have a photograph or even a poem.
Offers: if you are a business, would you like to offer a “Daffodil Deal” a small discount for visitors or customers arriving with a bus ticket, Or could you offer a competition prize?
Advertise: Promote your business and support the Daffodil Line. Advertising starts from £30. 5,000 copies of Down the Line are printed and distributed in all of our towns and villages, and further afield in Gloucester, Hereford, and Forest of Dean.
Distribute: Would your guests or customers enjoy reading our magazine? If you would like some copies of the free Autumn edition please let us know.
So, if you would like to get involved, get in touch with us at info@buses4us.org we would love to hear from you.
